The Civic Engagement & Public Leadership Initiative connects university students with hands-on experiences that deepen their understanding of civic life, public leadership, and community problem-solving.

Students apply what they learn in the classroom to real-world engagement across Georgia’s District 14 — helping build a stronger, better-informed community while developing valuable leadership skills.

For Students

Students gain practical, resume-ready experience through:

• Community outreach and listening sessions
• Voter education and democratic participation projects
• Policy and issue research
• Public forums and leadership events
• Civic communications and public awareness projects

No prior experience is required — just a desire to learn and make a meaningful impact.

For Universities

We partner with faculty and departments to offer:

• Service-learning and internship credit
• Guest lectures and applied learning modules
• Structured fieldwork opportunities
• Academic-aligned civic engagement experiences
   

We're looking to support Political Science, Public Policy, Sociology, Leadership, Communications, and Honors programs.

For the Community

This initiative strengthens our neighborhoods by:
